Licensed Attorney in Massachusetts.
For several years, I worked as a paralegal at a legal service provider and as such helped represent the interests of clients facing foreclosure, eviction and other housing issues, and elder abuse. From the start, because of my background in social work I always sought to combine legal service and social work principles. I felt that adopting a psychosocial and culturally-competent approach of the clients was essential to their attempt to reclaim or keep a sense of empowerment as my office helped them navigate the judicial system.
Witnessing the psychological toll caused by the demands of the legal process sharpened my interest in mental health specifically, and I oriented my trajectory into social work accordingly, even holding a social work license for a time.
I view my opportunity to practice law as a chance to contribute to the success of mental health practitioners. My time in client advocacy has taught me that people in search of legal assistance want resolution to concrete issues but also peace of mind that starts with a clear understanding of how the law affects their interests and how they can conduct their affairs without worry. As a lawyer, I look forward to helping members of the mental health profession reach that serenity.

David Saperstone, Esq., MSW | he/him
Principal/Attorney & Founder
Licensed Attorney in Massachusetts.
I’m a former social worker turned lawyer, and I’ve always been passionate about helping others. My career started in mental health, where I had the privilege of working closely with individuals, families, and communities. I’ve spent time in all sorts of spaces—whether it was working with youth in the juvenile justice system, supporting residents in public housing, or advocating for policy reform to address systemic injustices. I also spent several years working with therapists and group practice owners creating and implementing policy, onboarding new clinicians, and managing employee benefits, payroll, and other HR functions.Over time, I realized that while helping professionals dedicate their lives to healing others, they often face tricky challenges themselves. That’s partly what inspired me to take a leap into law—to combine my background in social work with legal expertise so I could better advocate for the helpers. I know what it’s like to be in your shoes, and I understand the unique demands of this field.
Now, my mission is to guide and support mental health professionals as they navigate the complexities of their practice. Whether you need help with complex legal issues or just want someone who “gets it,” I’m here to provide practical, compassionate, and tailored advice to make your journey a little smoother.
